The paper’s asks are as follows:
1. Select three U.S. publicly traded for profit companies within an industry sector.
2. Obtain financial information for each company (either via an annual report, the company’s Web site, or other financial resources as noted below for each company). www.sec.gov is a good starting point for annual reports. 3. Prepare a five-year trend table of all the financial ratios applicable to your companies depicted on page 378 of the textbook. All of the ratios on this page should be calculated and included in the appendix of the paper. 4. Perform an intercompany and an intra-company analysis of all of the ratios for all of the companies.
5. For each relevant ratio and each company, write a paragraph interpreting the trends and identify strengths and weaknesses. This area should focus on analysis of the company on an intra-company and inter-company. This section is critical as it displays an understanding of the ratio drivers and interpretation of the changes of these ratios. Please focus on the most important ratios that changed, are different between the companies and are relevant to your companies and industry.
A sample paper has been attached for reference; all sources must be cited and all calculations should be displayed. Liquidity, profitability, and solvency ratios are expected to be included in the paper; only the most relevant ones need to be selected (think five as a benchmark and more if needed)—I have attached a screenshot of these to the attachments section.
