There are many factors affect learning English language. One of the most important factors is attitude (Elis, 1994). The aim of the current study is to investigate Ranya university students’ attitude towards learning English in terms of the behavioural, cognitive and emotional aspects. For achieving this purpose, the second year students in the college of science will participate. The questionnaire will be distributed among 142 students from four specializations of science college; biology, chemistry, physic and civil engineering. The instrument of the current research is a questionnaire created by Jafre et al. (2012). The questionnaire is designed to study the attitudinal factors in learning English language. To achieve the research questions quantitatively, the collected data will be analysed through descriiptive statistics by using the SPSS program (version 25).

Aim of the study
The major objective of this study is to investigate the attitudes of science students towards learning English in terms of gender and department variables: the attitudes of the learners towards the use of English in different areas. In addition, the study is also to clarify the behavioural, cognitive and emotional aspects of attitudes which affect the students’ awareness in the process of English language learning.
